Clearlake KeysWe are a non-profit organization that serves the combined community of Clearlake Oaks/Glenhaven on the North Shore of Clear Lake in Lake County, California.  Formed in 1978 by a small group of merchants and residents who sought to pool their resources and ideas to benefit the community, our membership has grown steadily to over 75 businesses and individuals.  We hold dinner meetings on the 4th Thursday of each month with an agenda that covers county government reports and other topics of local interest presented by a wide array of speakers.  We also sponsor two major annual events:  the Catfish Derby and the July 4th FireworksMembership is open to all who wish to support our mission.

Our Mission is to promote the continuing improvement of our community and to enhance the quality of life of its residents.

To do this, we:

  • Contribute financially to organizations and projects throughout Lake County that demonstrate a clear benefit to our community.
  • Sponsor events that encourage community involvement and/or increased commerce.
  • Provide an ongoing forum for the presentation and discussion of topics of interest to our community

fireworksThe July 4th Maxine Sherman Memorial Annual Fireworks display presented at Wigeon Bay in Clearlake Oaks every year is a cherished tradition in this area.  Maxine Sherman was a CLOGBA member who was convinced of the importance of putting on this yearly display and worked hard to make that happen.  She lobbied the community relentlessly and put on numerous fund-raisers to support it.  CLOGBA members eventually voted to name the event after her.  Maxine died December 26, 1999, but her legacy lives on in the annual fiery explosions in the sky she so loved over the community she worked so hard for.  Thanks, Maxine.

The fireworks are launched from a barge on the lake near the Clearlake Oaks public launch ramp beginning at dusk.  The best (and most fun) viewing area is from a boat, anchored east of Rattlesnake Island.  No boat?  Next best viewing area is from Clarks Island.   Island Drive will be closed to vehicle traffic to/from Highway 20 during the fireworks show.

The annual Clearlake Oaks - Glenhaven July 4th fireworks display is completely funded by donations from our communites and fund raising events sponsored by the Business Association.  Your donation to help make this event successful will be gratefully accepted.

You may make a secure online donation via PayPal or by credit card by clicking the button below.  Thank you.

The 2024 Maxine Sherman Memorial Annual Fireworks display will held at dusk on Friday July 5th

The primary source of our funds is our annual Catfish Derby.  Thanks to the able leadership of Catfish Derby Chairpersons, Gail & Jim Jonas and Dennis Locke, the multitude of hard-working volunteers, and the generosity of sponsors and donors, the Derby has been a resounding success; providing excitement and family fun for catfish anglers while bringing in considerable extra commerce to our community.

XMAS Food BasketsEast Lake Students and member Doreen PostenWith CLOGBA funds, Red and White Market and Maercel's French bakery sponsorship, help from some CLOGBA members and students from East Lake School, we distributed  Christmas meal boxes to needy families in our area.

We also have a number of speakers presenting topics of local interest at our monthly membership meetings throughout the year. We invite you to attend.  If youy're not a member, we can sign you up at the meeting.

Thanks to everyone for working together to accomplish all that we have done to date.
